Part Selection & Practice Mode

Working with multi-part scores? ScoreTail lets you filter which parts to display and control playback volume for each part — perfect for practice sessions.

Part View

Show or hide individual parts in the score view. Use the eye icon to toggle visibility, or click "Solo" to view only one part.

  • Toggle parts on/off with the eye icon
  • Solo button shows only that part
  • "Show All" restores all parts

Part Audio

Control playback volume for each part independently. Great for practicing your part with accompaniment at a lower volume.

  • ON — Full volume (100%)
  • Soft — Reduced volume (30%)
  • OFF — Muted

Practice Tip

Use "Solo" in the Part Audio section to hear your part at full volume while all other parts play softly in the background — perfect for ensemble practice!

Real-time Collaboration

Work together with others in real-time! When multiple people open the same score, everyone can see changes as they happen.

How it works

  • Share your score URL with collaborators
  • See colored cursors showing where others are editing
  • Changes sync automatically — no manual saving needed
  • Each user gets a unique color for their selections

Import & Export

ScoreTail supports MusicXML, the standard format for sheet music interchange.

Import

Import MusicXML (.xml, .musicxml) or compressed MusicXML (.mxl) files from other notation software like MuseScore, Finale, or Sibelius.

Export

Export your scores as MusicXML files to use in other applications or share with others.

Sharing

Share your music with the world! ScoreTail makes it easy to share your scores.

Public Links

Create a public link that anyone can use to view (but not edit) your score. Perfect for sharing your compositions on social media or embedding in websites.

Collaborative Links
